This work utilizes a complex mixed-media approach, combining traditional Japanese mounting with Western professional-grade pigments.

• Premium Support: Painted on 300g Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor Paper, then precisely hand-cut and mounted onto a traditional 2mm-thick Made-in-Japan Shikishi board.

• Professional Pigment Selection:

• Watercolors: Created with professional honey-based French watercolors from Sennelier. Known for their extraordinary luminosity and transparency, these paints allow for rich, glowing layers that feel alive on the paper.  

• Turner "Black Hole": For the black, I used Turner Acrylic Gouache "Black Hole"—one of the world's most light-absorbent matte blacks. This creates a "void-like" depth that makes the colors pop with unnatural intensity.
