"Siren" - Original Batjokes Illustration (One-of-a-Kind Hand-Painted Shikishi)

"Siren" is a 1/1 original hand-painted illustration featuring my Siren Joker. This piece is a celebration of physical media, utilizing specialized pigments that create an organic, atmospheric depth that digital screens and AI generation simply cannot mimic.

Technical Specifications & Materials

This work features a rare combination of German precision and Japanese ink tradition on the finest Italian paper.

• Museum-Grade Support: Painted on Fabriano Artistico Extra White (100% Cotton). This legendary mould-made paper from Italy is prized for its exceptional strength and brilliant white surface, achieved without the use of optical brighteners. The artwork is precisely hand-cut and archival-mounted onto a traditional 2mm-thick Japanese Shikishi board.

• Schmincke Horadam Supergranulation: I used a trio of professional "Supergranulating" colors: Tundra Violet, Shire Green, and Tundra Blue. These specialized paints combine multiple granulating pigments that separate naturally upon drying, creating stunning, multi-tonal textures and complex color shifts.

• Japanese E-Sumi (Boku-Undo): For the deepest, most atmospheric shadows, I utilized Mokuyundo E-Sumi. These are sophisticated watercolors made from traditional Japanese sumi ink, delivering a muted, dark, and soulfully translucent finish that is unique to the sumi-e tradition.

• Finishing: Detailed with Sakura Pigma Micron archival ink and Karisma Color professional pencils.

Artisan Quality: A Tactile Experience

The defining feature of "Siren" is its tactile complexity. Under light, you can see the physical separation of pigments (granulation) and the velvety depth of the E-Sumi ink. These are the "fingerprints" of a genuine hand-painted work—evidence of a process where water, ink, and minerals interact naturally with the cotton fibers of the Fabriano paper.

The 2mm-thick rigid board is finished with traditional gold-foil edging , providing a built-in frame that gives the piece a substantial, high-end feel. It is self-supporting and ready for immediate display on a desk easel or shelf.
